Greece–Cyprus Passenger Ferry (AF Marina): Customs, Vehicles & Import Guide
The AF Marina connects Piraeus (Athens) to Limassol, Cyprus — carrying passengers and private vehicles. P.Panagi & Sons Ltd is the official customs clearing agent for vehicles arriving at Limassol Port.
The Greece–Cyprus Sea Connection
The AF Marina is a Ro-Ro/Passenger vessel operating the Limassol–Piraeus route, providing a direct sea link between Cyprus and Greece. For the 2026 season, the vessel replaces the Ferry Daleela which served the same route in previous years.
Whether you are a Cypriot resident returning home with your vehicle, a Greek national relocating to Cyprus, or a passenger travelling between the two countries, the AF Marina offers an alternative to air travel — particularly valuable for those transporting private vehicles.
Customs and import procedures are a critical part of the journey for anyone bringing a vehicle or goods into Cyprus. Cyprus is an EU member state, and all arrivals are subject to Cyprus Customs & Excise Department regulations. Understanding these requirements in advance prevents delays and avoids complications at the port.
P.Panagi & Sons Ltd is the official customs clearing agent for private vehicles on the AF Marina at Limassol Port. Our team handles all customs formalities on behalf of vehicle owners, ensuring a smooth and compliant clearance process. For why you need a customs broker in Cyprus, see our detailed guide.

Bringing a Vehicle to Cyprus by Ferry
The AF Marina is a Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) vessel, meaning private vehicles can be driven directly onto the ship at Piraeus and driven off at Limassol. This makes it a practical option for those who need to transport their vehicle between Greece and Cyprus without the cost and complexity of container shipping.
Upon arrival at Limassol Port, all vehicles are subject to customs clearance by the Cyprus Customs & Excise Department. The type of clearance required depends on the vehicle's registration country and the purpose of the import (temporary or permanent). For a full overview of the importing a car to Cyprus process, see our dedicated guide.
P.Panagi & Sons Ltd manages all customs formalities for vehicle owners on the AF Marina. Our team prepares and submits the required customs declarations, coordinates with Cyprus Customs, and ensures your vehicle is released as quickly as possible.

Document Collection: Approximately 1–3 weeks before your booking date, our team will contact you by email from [email protected] to request the relevant documents for your vehicle. Please reply specifically on that email correspondence — do not send documents to any other address or open a new email thread.
Customs Clearance for Ferry Passengers
Upon arrival at Limassol Port, all passengers disembarking from the AF Marina pass through Cyprus Customs & Excise. As Cyprus is an EU member state and Greece is also an EU country, passengers travelling between the two countries are generally not subject to customs duties on personal belongings intended for personal use.
However, Cyprus Customs officers retain the right to inspect luggage and question passengers. Certain categories of goods — including tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, and items of significant commercial value — may be subject to quantity limits or duty payments even when travelling within the EU.
Passengers should carry valid identification (passport or EU ID card). Non-EU nationals arriving on the AF Marina are subject to standard immigration and customs procedures at Limassol Port.
EU Passengers (from Greece)
- No customs duties on personal goods for personal use
- Tobacco and alcohol subject to EU limits
- Valid EU ID card or passport required
- Customs inspection possible at officer's discretion
Non-EU Passengers
- Standard customs declaration may be required
- Consult Cyprus Customs for specific allowances
Personal Belongings and Goods
Passengers travelling from Greece to Cyprus on the AF Marina may bring personal belongings without customs formalities, provided the goods are for personal use and not for commercial purposes. Since both countries are EU member states, the movement of goods between them is generally unrestricted for personal items.
The applicable rules depend on the value and nature of the goods, the passenger's residency status, and whether the items are being permanently imported into Cyprus. Passengers relocating to Cyprus from non-EU countries may qualify for Transfer of Residence (TOR) relief, which allows household goods and personal effects to be imported duty-free under specific conditions.
For a comprehensive overview of how to import goods into Cyprus, including applicable duty rates and exemptions, refer to our dedicated guide. For TOR-specific queries, our team can assess your eligibility and manage the entire customs process.
