Perishable goods require fast, coordinated customs clearance to minimise the time spent at the port. Phytosanitary & Veterinary Inspections

Fresh produce, plants, and animal products are subject to phytosanitary or veterinary inspection by the Cyprus Department of Agriculture or the Veterinary Services Department. These inspections are conducted at the port and can add time to the clearance process. We coordinate with the relevant inspection bodies to schedule inspections as early as possible.

Cold Chain & Port Storage

Perishable goods arriving at Limassol Port are typically stored in the port's refrigerated facilities pending customs clearance. Port storage charges accumulate quickly for perishable cargo. We submit AIS declarations on a pre-arrival basis wherever possible to minimise the time goods spend in port storage.
